Studio: I’m beckoned for exploration-without-judgment.
Teaching: My teaching is both contracting AND expanding. May and June marked my last University of Minnesota course (the twelfth with the Learning Abroad Center, through which I have taught in Greece, France and Japan.) This latest privilege involved leading 20 students on a cultural and learning adventure in Greece. It was a great experience on many levels and renewed my commitment to a similar learning opportunity for adults. I continue to offer short courses or workshops. And am further developing Destination Learning Opportunities for adults. I am firmly devoted to the transformative aspect of combining cultural learning with aesthetic learning,
Color, Light and Form in Greece is a longer experience with instruction in cultural and historical aspects of Greece as well as applied aesthetics, with demonstrations in sketching en plein air. There will be regular opportunities to sketch, paint, write, photograph, etc. along the way.
Both are geared for creatives of all skill levels. These art travels enable exploration in inspiring settings. For some, these workshops may simply be an oasis in the middle of a busy life, a chance to unwind and re-direct. For others, it could be a chance to waken dormant skills. I hope that it will be the impetus for ideas that spring forth long after the adventure ends. How beautifully planned and executed the retreat was. Your ability to assess the situation from moment to moment was what impressed me . And, your flexibility and wisdom to adjust accordingly was seamless. ~Past attendee
